KD Girl's Reunion

Shalah, Ivy, Karen and Laurie were all able to come and visit us in July before we moved. We intended to get a hotel and stay out at the Navy Lodge, but it was booked and there was nothing out in town. They all stayed with us in our townhouse. Things were a little tight, but I think everyone had a great time. It was nice to be able to eat and drink at home when we could.
Here we all are after a hike town the Torrey Pines State Reserve onto the beach in La Jolla. We followed that up with brunch at The Cottage.

Drinks at the del are always nice.

We had a fun bike ride around town. Between dinner, dancing, telling stories, etc. this was a very fun weekend. Karen was able to stay on for a few more days before heading back to Texas. Thanks girls for the perfect send off!

Temecula Surprise

These were the cute faces I saw on my doorstep the morning of July 19th. I had just gotten home from a run around 8:00 and the doorbell rang. Chad was watching TV so asked me to go get it. Meredith, Condra, Susan and Jen were standing there and told me I had 30 minutes to get ready and they were taking me away for the night.

I quickly showered and got dressed and packed my bag. I was totally thrown off and had no idea where they were taking me. I didn't like not knowing what we were doing.

Condra drove us and I was asking 20 questions to figure it out. Finally I figured it out when we got close to the Temecula exit...we were going wine tasting.

Meredith organized the trip and we got a wine bus to take us to 5 wineries so no one had to worry about driving.

Someone is looking a little tired from all the wine tasting!

Here we are right outside of our room getting ready to go to the 5 course wine tasting dinner. The whole day and night was amazing. I have the most incredible friends...so thoughtful...so fun.

Super Hero Birthday

Allie wouldn't hear of a Tinker Bell or Princess Birthday party. No sir...it was Super Hero all the way for her. We did a quick celebration after our return from vacation.

Here is Cole and Landon as Superman and Batman.

Allie didn't like the attention of everyone singing happy birthday. Chad had to get a picture from the other side b/c her back was turned to everyone. The cookie cake was a huge hit.

VBS

The next day after we returned from our trip was the second day of Vacation Bible School. I was able to teach the upcoming 1st and 2nd graders. Allie was in with the preschoolers. We all had so much fun that week. At the end of the week Rebecca gave all the volunteers a lunch that was catered with amazing food.

Bunco Surprise Night Out

My Bunco gals pulled a real fast one on me. Condra and I rode bikes to Abby's house who was "hosting" Bunco that month. We got there and she had this wonderful spread on her back patio of wine and cheese and crackers. After being there for about an hour, Meredith stood up to tell me that it was all a farce and that we had reservations at J-Six (Amy's husband is the excutive chef at the restaurant) at 8:30. We all loaded up in two cars and headed there for dinner. Dinner was delicious and after we went upstairs to the roof top pool/bar where we had a cabana reserved.
Here we all are in the cabana.

And here we are pool side getting ready to go dance the night away at Whiskey Girl. What a fun night that was!!!

Now off to TN

In Atlanta, after we said goodbye to Chad's parents we rented a car to drive to TN. Kim's house is always so relaxing. We spent most of our time by the pool. We also celebrated Tori and Allie's birthday with a birthday bbq. The girls love spending time with their cousins. We had a great time in Maryville.

Here mom and I are hanging out by the pool.

This is Sarah and I after a match of pool volleyball.

Al-bal and I taking a rest on the float.

Mom got a beautiful cake for Tori and Allie's birthday. It had two cupcakes on the top for them. The cupcake "wrapper" was made out of white chocolate. It was a very delicious cake.

This is the portrait of the "cousins".

Monday, July 14th we drove down to Atlanta to return our rental car and fly home to Coronado. It was a fantastic three week trip, but so good to be getting home.

Back from Paris and in Atlanta

We flew in from Paris into Atlanta and Chad's parents were generous enough to meet us and bring the girls to us. We spent the night at the Embassy Suites and had a fun evening of swimming in the indoor and outdoor (cold) pool. The happy hour is always well received by us as is the breakfast buffet in the morning. The next morning as we left for Maryville, TN there were lots of tears shed b/c the next time we see them will be in Japan.
