Dropping the girls off in Swainsboro

After Daufuskie, Chad's parents picked us up from the ferry landing in Savannah and took us out to dinner. We survived a major thunderstorm on our way home. Chad and I spent three nights in Swainsboro before driving up to Atlanta to fly to Paris.

Allie got plasma cars for her birthday. We had them shipped to Swainsboro so the girls could play with them while we were gone.

There they go down the driveway.

Grandma bought the girls this water slide pool. They had a blast playing on it.

Daufuskie Island

We started our three week vacation in Daufuskie Island with Rick and Susan, Jeff and Suzanne, and Drew and Curry. Each family had two kids ranging in age from 6 years old to 9 months. Susan's family has a beach house. We flew from San Diego to Savannah and then took the ferry from Savannah to Daufuskie Island. We spent the week at the beach, pool and riding golf carts around the Island. We had the best time. Allie heard thunder for the first time.

Here is the house we stayed at. It had four master bedrooms and a huge room upstairs for the kids.

This is some of the gang at the pool.
Here we are on our night out to Marshead Mamma's.

Landon in the COD

Allie, Landon and I met Chad up at work so that he could show Landon around the plane. He had been looking forward to that for a while. Looks like a future Navy Pilot if you ask me.

Birthday/Marathon Bash Bonfire

Susan threw Condra and I am party on the beach for our birthday (mine being June 4th and Condra's June 3rd) and also to celebrate running the marathon. I wish I had more pictures. We had a great time and it felt so good by the fire on this cool June night.

Ballet Recital

Lauren is with Daddy right before going back stage to her ballet recital. This was a very professional production from the California Ballet School (out of our league). Her and Zoe did an outstanding job as the "Ladybugs".

Rock and Roll Marathon

So this is it...six months of training coming down to one morning. (It is not the destination, but the journey) Many blisters, lots of baby-sitters (Heidi, Victoria, Connie and Joe)...not to go out but to go running, early morning wake-ups, speed workouts at Balboa Stadium, pushing the jogger for 6.5 miles every Monday, training with a group that is so inspiring (Arden, Deana, Craig and Susie especially), setting a goal and achieving it, getting through an injury when I wasn't sure that I would, solving the world's problems during long runs, no longer running with an Ipod, becoming life long friends with the best running partner anyone could ask for, realizing what an amazing group of friends I have and how supportive they all are.

Condra and I went to the convention center to pick up our bib numbers.

Saturday, May 31st, after our pasta dinner.

Here we are at our gear check UPS truck. We are about to do this!

How do I look? I just ran 26.2 miles (4:00:08). Help...my toe is cramping!

Jen and Meredith were waiting for us at the finish line. Thanks Meredith for the yummy Popsicles.
