The new fountain

For a second week in a row on Wednesday (Lauren's early release day from school) we went to the Ferry Landing for a little Thai lunch and playing by the fountain. This week we took Nana.

Dinner with Mosiers

When we saw the Mosiers at church on Sunday, they were quick to invite us over to their house for dinner. They are so hospitable and gracious. We had a lovely dinner and the girls ALWAYS enjoy playing with Ellie and Natalie. It has been so fun to watch Allie and Natalie grow as friends.

Wild Animal Park with Nana

Nana came in for a visit on Friday. Saturday we took her to the Wild Animal Park up in Escondido. We had a great time. I had just injured my leg, so I was a little slow walking around the park. I never realized that our passes to the park included the tram tour through the African Sahara. That is something we have never done before. The girls loved the 30 minute tour.

We love to see the lions resting on the Range Rover.

For lunch we packed a picnic and the girls played on the playground while Nana and I took a rest. We had a great day!

Happy Valentine's Day

Both girls had parties at school today. Allie and I went and helped out at the kindergarten party which was such fun. Later that night we had the spouses over whose husbands are gone with Chad for a nice Valentine Dinner (I neglected to take pictures of that).

Landon is 4!

Today was Landon's birthday party. It was Monster truck theme and Allie was a little unsure how that was going to be. Condra got the deluxe jumpy and the kids played in that thing all day long. Later that night at dinner Lauren said she felt like she was still bouncing up and down. Here are the older siblings Lauren and Cole taking time to pose for a shot before heading down the slide.

All the kids loved the pizza and cake (as well as us adults). We had a great time. Happy Birthday Landon!!!

Lake Poway

Saturday the Winkels invited us out to Lake Poway with them for a little hike and picnic with the kids. I will emphasize little hike b/c I had just done a long run earlier that morning. It was an amazing day in the weather department. The sun was beaming and it was actually quite warm. Above the girls (Lauren, Allie and Clara) are munching on the yummy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies Jennifer made.

Here the Winkel family are set to go out on the hike both packs and all. Allie is behind me crying b/c she wanted in the pack. Hugh was a good sport and carried her for a while also.

Allie was in no mood to be photographed in this picture as she was still holding a grudge with me.

Super Bowl Sunday

For Super Bowl Sunday we had a few friends over for the game. Poor Mark was the only guy and had to shush us during the game so he could hear what was going on. Condra was there with her boys, Meredith was there with Zoe and Susan and Mark had Zoe and Jack. The kids played and watched a movie and we ate and somewhat watched the game. Condra and I in the picture above are posing with our Super Run T-shirts which is the 10K race we ran on Saturday (did I mention we ran really fast). We ate so much and had such a great time during the game.

Princess on Ice

The girls and I went with our friends Zoe and Meredith (Zoe's Mom) to Princess on Ice. This is the first time we attended anything like this and both girls loved it. I have to say that Disney does an outstanding job and it kept my attention as well. They even had real fire spitting out of the dragon's mouth and fireworks at the end. We had a blast!

Daisy Tea Party

Tonight Lauren's Daisy Girl Scout troop was invited to a Daisy Tea Party hosted by some older girl scouts. It was held at Christ Church. They all had such a fun time. The girls made princess hats, decorated cookies, and watched a skit put on by the older ones. They liked the skit so much they made them do it two times. Very cute. And poor little Allie is such a trooper to sit and watch at all of Lauren's events without complaining at all. Tomorrow we are off to see Princess on Ice which is sure to be a blast. Stay tuned for pictures and an update on that.
