Here comes the bride

Allie had a modeling job in Tokyo yesterday where she had to dress up like a bride. There was a little boy that was the groom named Ben. He was so cute, but I didn't get any photos of him or them together. Allie was a little shy at first, especially after Lauren at dinner the night before told her that she would probably have to kiss him. Well, after just a little bit she got comfortable and they had a great time. Here are a couple of pictures of her getting ready.

Cotton Japan Fashion Show

Lauren was in her first fashion show yesterday in Tokyo. It was an incredible experience and I was so proud of how brave she was. She wasn't nervous (I think I had all the nerves for the both of us).

Here she is after having her make-up done. She had a crash on her bike the day before and they were able to cover up her two scratches on her check and chin. Amazing those make-up artists.

Here we are getting ready for the rehearsal. She was so excited to get to carry the American Flag. When she went out on stage the music was an electric guitar playing the National Anthem.

Getting directions from the producers.

Lunch time! The o-bento was oiishi-desu (delicious).

Last minute prepping before the show started. We were only able to watch backstage on these very large screens. She had a blast and was so confident when walking on stage. I was very impressed. Another one of our "only in Japan" experiences.

Welcome Party from Kenji and Sumiko

With Mom in town visiting us this week, Kenji and Sumiko invited us over the their house for a party to welcome mom to Japan.

The food was amazing as always. Chicken, Ebi (Shrimp), Tofu, Goma Dofu, Ham, Yeast Bread, steamed vegetables.

Dessert was this delicious Brownie Cake and Sakura Mochi and a Ricotta cheesecake. We were just a little bit full.

Homecoming

Chad came home today!!!! He had bought the girls flight suits when he was in Korea. They have patches and name tags and everything. I gave them to the girls this morning in anticipation of his arrival late this afternoon. They were thrilled.

Here the plane is right after landing.

It is loud and the girls were getting so excited.

We were up at the squadron in plenty of time to see the planes fly over and then land. We made chili with all the toppings for the guys (and gals) and I made the American Flag Cake. Allie was very proud of her blueberry stars.

Do you think we have a future pilot??? (I don't think so) Chad is going to be home for a while which is really nice. Pictures will be coming of our trip to China next week. I will also try and catch up from late summer and this fall.

Singapore Shots

Pictures from our Singapore Trip

In an effort to catch up on our family blogging, I am just posting the pictures from our trip late summer to visit Chad while on deployment. We had such a great time eating our way through this melting pot of a country.
